日本では、個人で加入している「HCD-Net」がイベントを行うということでしたので、参加してきました。

• World Usability Day 2008 Japan | World Usability Day

「UPA (Usability Professionals’ Association)」が主催していて、世界各地で行われるイベントのようでしたが、そういえばUPSの日本支部ってないですね。はじめのほうでHCD-Netの金山氏のプレゼンで日本支部を立ち上げることを予定されているとか。

海外のイベントもたくさんあるようで、まずはイタリアで開催された「CHI 2008」への参加報告をミツエーリンクスの潮田氏からあり、続いてHCD-Netの小林氏よりUPS中国支部が主催している「User Friendly 2008」、そしてアメリカである「HCII2009」の告知をされていました。

個人的には、海外の大きなイベントはとても興味があるのですが、中国のUser Friendly 2008のイベントでは参加者が若い人が多いということに驚きました。中国支部の代表も30代 (?) とか。「ユーザビリティ」というテーマで日本でこういうイベントをやると間違いなく年齢層が高くなると思うので、ちょっと日本では偏見があるのかなと思いました。

そのあと「高齢者を対象とした駅の案内表示のユーザビリティ調査」として、産業技術総合研究所の北島氏の講演があり、駅の案内表示についての研究報告がありました。これも以前、ウチ (なぞ) の事例で駅でのナビゲーションという案件があったのを思い出しました。

そのあとは、ビービット社のユーザビリティ・ラボを見学して帰社しましたとさ。

にRIAっぽいインターフェースとして下記サイトを取り上げています。

って、どこかでAjaxの参考サイトとして取り上げていた記憶があるのですが……。

「Challenge 」として次のことを謳ってます。

RIAコンソーシアムでの活動に影響あるかな、と思ったり。

2005年7月19日～20日にadaptive path社でワークショップが開催される模様。

内容は下記のような具合。

• Develop a detailed understanding of your users through task analysis, mental models, personas, and scenarios

• Improve the user experience by actively managing stakeholders and company politics
• Create a user-centered information architecture that meets business needs
• Design more successful interactive tools and user interfaces
• Manage your own usability tests
• Validate and defend important design decisions

うーん。参加したかとです。

「user-centered information architecture」って表現がいいですね。
「ユーザー中心情報構築」ってことなんでしょうか。

ということで、ユーザビリティに関するガイドイランがAlerboxでも紹介されています。

これによると、90%はまだ従来のガイドラインが有効で残りの10%が最近の動向を踏まえて刷新することになると。
